On 12th February 2022, we organised third demonstration of pollarding. We invited volunteers for Saturday morning to Kačák pond to show who lives in willows and why it is so important to take care of them. There lives also a hermit beetle which you shoud hear about.
Arborists worked busily and also twenty volunteers who tidied up small branches away from a path. Some branches stayed in a water. It is not a mistake as you might think. Branches in water offers new territorry for fish and amphibians. There is no doubt willows and water belongs together.
